SN65DP141: AC and DC datasheet clarification

Part Number: SN65DP141

I’m having trouble visualizing precisely what “DC Gain” and “AC Gain” mean in the datasheet

Could you help me understand what these correspond to on a CTLE curve like below?

  • Hello Michael

    DC GAIN:
This is to attenuate the signal if input swing is too large, it doesn't matter if cable/trace is long or short. Input swing would need to be attenuated to avoid amplifier saturation. When you send the signal, you have the option of incrementing the swing with the same gain.

    AC Gain:
It is the gain that affects the AC signals.

    Regards
