TUSB4020BI: GANGED mode

Part Number: TUSB4020BI

Hi

I have a question about GANGED mode

As it mentioned on the datasheet, the power is controlled individually if GANGED/SMBA2/HS_UP pin is low.

Does it mean that the over current protection is detected and protected individually?

(If the port 1 is detected the OC the port 2 is not affected. Is that correct?)

Regards,

Koji Hamamoto

  • Hamamoto-san,

That is correct. If the GANGED/SMBA2/HS_UP terminal is low at power-up, the GANGED mode will be disabled and both overcurrent and port power control will be individually switched.

So, if an overcurrent event is detected through the OVERCUR1z terminal, the TUSB4020BI will de-assert only the PWRCTL1 terminal and other ports shouldn't be affected.

    Regards,
    Jorge
