TUSB213: TUSB213 EQ and DC boost setting

Part Number: TUSB213

Hi,

we have some question about the application of TUSB213.
The below is our schematic

1. DC boost voltage

We choose RDC1=47kohm and RDC2=24.3kohm.
but the voltage of DCboost is 40mV, not 3.3V.
If we remove RDC1 and RDC2, let it float,
the voltage will be 3.3V.
the result let us feel confuse.

2. EQ

we choose 3.9kohm for REQ.
How to verify if we get the correct setting?
by measuring voltage of current?

In spec, we can see that.
" Auto selects maximum AC boost level when left floating"

If we need longer USB cable (2M-3M), we should give a fixed value or let it floating?

Thanks.

Best regards,

  • Hello Otto,

I am working on your questions and I will have a feedback tomorrow.

    Regards,
    Diego.
  • Hello Otto,

       Here you go my feedback:

Q1: pin 4 shares 2 functionalities: DCBOOST and ENA_HS; where at reset it acts as a 3-level input that controls the DC boost. On the other hand, after reset acts as an output flag that indicates whether the channel is in high speed mode or not. (Please see the pin description and the table from the datasheet for a detailed description)

Q2: you can see a clear example on the  table 3 from the datasheet, where you can see a selected resistor for each EQ level.

    Best regards,

    Diego.
