Hi,

I am Lakshman. I am planning to use DS64BR401 repeater for QSGMII Interface between VSC7468(Switch) and VSC8584(PHY). Please find the attached Block Diagram and TX & RX Characteristics of Both VSC7468 and VCS8584 PHY. Please let us know the compatibility of the interface between VSC7468(Switch) and VSC8584(PHY) through DS64BR401 repeater, which is shown in block diagram. Please suggest if any resistor termination is required.

Hi Lakshman,

No resistor termination is needed. AC coupling will be required.

Hi,

Is there any Voltage Level Miss match at the Switch (VSC7468) side Interface and the PHY (VSC8584) Interface , when we route the QSGMII signals through DS64BR401 Repeaters. Please see my earlier message for TX and RX Characteristics of Both Devices.

I have reviewed the documentation. The DC characteristics of the DS64BR401 are not fully compatible with the Switch and PHY. These interfaces will need to be AC coupled.
