Can we use a TSB81BA3E @400MHz and will it be completely interoperable with the legacy TSB41BA3?

Hello Steven,

They are not compatible the TSB81BA3E does not support s200B or s100B.,

Is the TSB81BA3E completely interoperable with the TS41BA3 when operating only in S400B?

Hi Roberto,
Another question on the same setup/topic/etc.

I am contemplating the pros and cons of using the internal supply to power the DVDD-1.8 and PLLVDD-1.8 rails on the TSB41BA3. The datasheet and app note (SLLA153A) mention it is allowed but give no specifics as to why you would not want to use the single supply solution. In a reference design I inherited, they are using the TSB81* part as there PHY, which has the same option. But in this case, they use the 2 power supply approach. Does TI recommend an approach for the TSB41 PHY? I am using it with the TSB12LV32 LLC.
