TS3USB3000: Bir-direction connection issue

Part Number: TS3USB3000

Hi,

We got  high fail rate for device return from customer. Customer have design USB connector side connect to USB+/- and MHL+/- pin of TS3USB3000. I think it's not bir-direction connection and maximum voltage rating of USB-/MHL- should over 5.5v  in case using USB charging. It should be damaged on  pin USB-/MHL- when use USB charging. Does it correct?

  • Hello Jimmy,

All voltage levels supplied to the TS3USB3000 should be within the rages defined at section 6.3 of the datasheet.

Battery charging applications shouldn't have a problem as VBus isn't passed through TS3USB3000.

If you provide a more detailed (and higher resolution) schematic, I can help to review everything is in place.

    Regards,
    Jorge
