DS90UB927Q-Q1: BIST Mode and "DES Error"(0x0C[1])

Part Number: DS90UB927Q-Q1

[ DS90UB927-Q1 & DS90UB928-Q1 ] BIST Mode and "DES Error"(0x0C[1])

Hi,

<Q1>:

Can you please elaborate "DES Error"(0x0C[1]) of DS90UB927?

The description says that "CRC error during BIST...". As my understanding, CRC is used for the BIST of back-channel communication.
However, we have another bit to indicate "BIST CRC Error". What is the difference?

Are there any relation to 0x03[7] "Back Channel CRC Checker Enable" bit?

<Q2>:

Is it the possible case that this "DES Error" is triggered without UB927 and UB928 going to BIST mode?

<Q3>:

The drawing below expresses my understanding of BIST report. Correct?

Thanks,
Ken

  • Hello-

A1: DES Error"(0x0C[1]) of DS90UB927 is set when there is an error on the back-channel during normal operation. It is an output of the back-channel CRC checker. The back-channel CRC checker is enabled with the register bit 0x03[7]=1 (default). The word "BIST" needs to be removed from the description.

A2: Yes. DES Error may only be set during normal operation (not in BIST mode).

    A3: Yes.
