TLK10232: TX glitching

Part Number: TLK10232

According to the traces and scope shots there is no reset or power fluctuation to the TI transceiver. However, there is still a glitch/reset from the TLK10232 TX even though there is not a glitch on recieve. The glitch typically lasts ~3us however there are examples of it lasting much longer. We need to know where else we can look aside from power/reset/TX/RX pins. The setup is using TLK10232 in 10GE-KX4 to/from 10GBASE-KR.

Do you think adjusting LS_SWING and LS_DE register tuning values would help solve this glitch?

Is there any internal hidden register inside the TLK10232 that can force it to stop working or shutdown?

The glitch was captured in multiple labs.

  • Once ETH link down occurs, the glitch is captured by scope.
  • No serdes glitch on TLK RX is capture when link down occurs.
  • So EOBC link flapping does come from the intermittent glitch on TL10232 Serdes TX.

Do you have any idea why there would be intermittent glitch on TLK10232 KR and KX4 TX?
