AM26LS32AC: DS26LS32, 26LS31M, AM26LS32AM

Part Number: AM26LS32AC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26LS32AM

Hi

I am using differential line receiver DS26LS32 to receive "HS/VS signals" of XGA video. We are using them as a unipolar differential for Hsync, Vsync signals. 8The output of this receiver goes to four differential line drivers 26LS31M.

1). Receiver (DS26LS32) does not meet the temp requirement of our system. What are the electrical differences between DS26LS32 and AM26LS32AM? Can I replace receiver (DS26LS32) with AM26LS32AM?

2). Can AM26LS32AM drive four drivers DS26LS31M?

3). Can we short the output of two drivers DS26LS31M (at one time only one is enable) with the input of AM26LS32AM to create a 8x4 mux?

Regards;

  • One more thing is the reason to prefer AM26LS32 is because of SMD package in the temperature range of -55 to 125.
  • Hi Raheel,

    These two devices were originally developed with the intent of being pin-for-pin functional equivalents, so there should be only minor differences with respect to electrical and timing parameters.

    It is OK to tie a single logic-level output to multiple logic inputs, since these inputs are fairly high in input impedance and will not load the output driver.

    It is also OK to tie multiple differential iutputs together provided that only one is enabled at any given time. A disabled transmitter can still tolerate signals on the bus, and will not create any loading that would disrupt communication.

    Please just let us know if you have any further questions or if I missed anything.

    Regards,
    Max
