I’m examining the TPD5S116 HDMI companion chip for a video board with several HDMI2.0 ports.

First and most basic question:

Is this device intended to use for HDMI source applications? Or sink? Or both?

Can TI supply a reference design for them?

The TPD5S116 is specified for HDMI 1.4, not HDP2.0, so it might not be appropriate for your system depending on what portions of the 2.0 specification you are supporting.

The device is capable of supporting both sink and source applications. You can refer to the EVM for a reference design. The users guide is located at www.ti.com/.../slvu800.pdf.

The TPD5S116 datasheet states that it is supports HDMI2.0 also, what do you mean ‘portions of the 2.0 spec’?

My apologies, I pulled the datasheet from a different part that was not fully compliant to HDMI2.0.

The TPD5S116 is fully compliant.
