TUSB211: About the 20m cable application...

Part Number: TUSB211
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB212, TUSB217

Dear Sirs,

I had read several discussion on E2E and found more than 5m cable, the multiple TUSB211 should be used.

Therefore, if customer product is 20m cable, they need 4pcs TUSB211, right?

And how to place them? Both side of cable and mid-cable at each 5m?

Another question is, which AWG cable will recommend to use?

Thanks.

  • Hello Peter,

Thank you for your interest in our products.
I have assigned a support engineer and you should be getting a response soon.

    Regards,
    Jorge
  • TUSB211 cannot support 20m cable even placed every 5m, but TUSB211 could be used for ~8-10m cables. However, the TUSB211 cannot account for the DC loss in 10m.

TUSB212 can support 10m cable and account for some of the DC loss.

A 26 AWG cable can be used for such long cables, if there is a power line in this cable try to use 24 AWG cable. What is the customer application?

There is a TUSB217 that should support 20m cable with samples coming in May.
