TLIN1029-Q1: Internal Protection Diode Connection

Hello,

I'd like to confirm whether a voltage (accidentally) applied to a pin could affect the other pin through protection diodes inside TLIN1029-Q1. Specifically, I'm concerned about whether a voltage applied to any pin of the TLIN1029-Q1 will pull its VSUP pin up through internal (ESD) protection diodes under the condition of VSUP = 0 V.

Yokota-san,

I would not expect this to occur. The ESD protection on the LIN pin is designed to clamp high-voltage transients to the ground pin, not to VSUP. Further, there is a blocking diode in series with a pull-up resistance connected between VSUP and LIN. This prevents current flow from LIN to VSUP in case the LIN voltage is larger.

Max-san,

How about the other pins? I mean, RXD, EN, and TXD in addition to LIN. Are protection diodes placed between these pins and VSUP?

No, none of the other pins connect through protection diodes to VSUP either.
