HD3SS3412: S-parameters measurement.

Hello

Customer would like to use VNA to measure entire S-parameter of PCIe Channel. Can they just only power on Mux IC and measure interconnection while power off other device of MB ? Thank you.

if customer would like use HD3SS3412 to replace PI3PCIE3412AZHEX directly. Can the following thermal pad pattern of stencil apply to HD3SS3412?

Hi Patrick,

You will definately need to power on the Mux. There are also the CPU and card ends to consider.

Removing the CPU and attaching the VNA to the CPU ball locations will probably work well, but it will require some special probes.

Adding a termination at the card side will improve the overall accuracy of the measurement.
