TPD4S014: How to connect shield and gnd from USB socket (ESD protection)

I have got question about how to connect shield and gnd of the USB socket.

In my solution I have got two options. In first case the whole housing is made from metal and it is connected to the gnd. In second case the whole housing is made from plastic and it is not connected to the gnd.

I looking for best solutions how to connect shield and gnd from USB to the rest of my circuit.

In datasheet of the TPD4S014 I can not find information how to connect shield and gnd from USB socket. In "Block diagram" there are only showed Vbus, D+, D- and ID pins.

Hello,
Are you going to ground the metal from the case to your main ground or going to isolate it?
My recommendation would be the less metal you have exposed the harder it is for an ESD event to occur but you do need to ground the TPD4S014 to have it operate as intended.

The device is powered by one li-ion cell.

On scheme below, thera are two variants.

In first variant the USB shield and metal housing are connected to the gnd.

In second variant the USB shield and metal housing are connected to the gnd by capacitor and resistor.

Which variant is better?

Either of your two variants should work as long as the TPD4S014 is as close to the part it is protecting as possible and that the ground between the two is very low resistance.
