SN65176B: θj-c / Ψjt & Max Allowable Junction Temperature values

Our team is looking into the thermal parameters you mentioned and will get back to you once we have them (should be next week). For the maximum allowable junction temperature, the absolute maximum (based on reliability concerns) is 150 C. In terms of conformance to datasheet specifications, the temperature range is defined not in terms of junction temperature but in terms of ambient temperature. (This is used for device characterization since it can be directly measured rather than computed.) Since the junction temperature will be hotter than the ambient temperature, the maximum recommended ambient temperature of 105 C could be considered a conservative maximum value for the IC junction.
