Hi,

in an old post i asked the possibility to interface the mux SN65LVCP40 to a 3.125Gbps 4x4 cross-point (DS25CP104).

Now i need to update my design to interface signal source like:

- FPD-Link I/II/III

- GMSL1/2

- APIX1/2

I choose the SN65LVCP404 (or 402) for get higher datarate in place of the DS25CP104A.

My old configuration was:

My doubt are:

1: Can the SN65LVCP404 be interfaced to an LVDS output (this output goes to a frame grbber input)? I have this doubt because from the TI selection table, the output format of this SN65LVCP404 is VML and not LVDS.

2: Does this new architecture is suitable for the signal type FPD-Link I/II/III, GMSL1/2, APIX1/2 ?

The outputs of these devices are compatible with LVDS inputs.

The architecture is not suitable for FPD-link III which incorporates back channel communications.

Thanks for the reply Lee.

We will note use the back-channel feature.

So apart from the back channel issue, does the architecture i proposed (NEW ARCHITECTURE DIAGRAM) is compatible with an LVDS link with APIX and GMSL standard?

Plus, Does the crosspoint DS25CP104A or SN65LVCP404 can be used directly betwenn the LVDS inputs and LVDS output connector without the SN65LVCP40?

Nick,

I do not know enough about the electrical characteristics of APIX and GSM standards to know if it will be 100% compatible.

The crosspoint could directly drive the LVDS output connector.
