Hello,

Can I use TCA6416A with 10 inputs and 4 outputs configuration?

If yes, Is there any requirements or any suggestions?

If no, could you recommend proper solution which can make this configuration?

    -Yes, you can use any of the I/Os are either an input or an output in any configuration. Note that the device upon start up is an input so you do not need to configure the inputs, just the outputs.

    -My first suggestion is to not leave any inputs floating (even pins you are not using). It is always best to reference them to either Vcc or GND with a pull up or pull down resistor.

    -My recommendation for the outputs is keep in mind the absolute max ratings for current. The P ports can each support 50mA of current (each pin can take 50mA of sourcing or sinking). The Max total that VccP can source is 160mA so the total amount of current each pin can source must be lower than 160mA in total. You can see this on table 6.1 in the max ratings section.

    -My suggestion for the outputs is to keep in mind the recommended conditions of current for the pins. Output high max should be 10mA per pin and output low max should be 25mA per min. This can be found in section 6.3 of the datasheet.
