SN65176B: SN65176B Design advice

We aim to use the SN65176B with a UART protocol between two PCB, that could be about 20 meters away to using a standard cross wire cable set/

In regards to the PCB design, do we design the differential pair with a impedance of 100 ohms with a 100 ohms resistor between the TX and RX pins?

Yes you want to terminate the bus lines at all transceivers with resistors matching the impedance of your twisted-pair cables. Check out this RS-485 design guide. It has some good tips on proper termination and communicating in electrically noisy environments.

Dear Lucas

For now i will keep a foot print of a resistor and once the impedance of cable is confirmed i can place a resistor with the corresponding value.
