DP83848K: Ethernet cable is not detected

Part Number: DP83848K

Hi guys,

I am doing  ethernet design for fpga board,i am using Ethernet phy dp83848k,i am facing a problem like the pc is not detecting the the ethernet  cable.I had connected in between fpga and pc. what may be the problem ,is there any reference designs available,

          Thanking you in advance.

  • Hi yesuraju,

It is suggested to use the DP83848K EVM as a reference design: www.ti.com/.../dp83848k-mau-ek

Ensure the PHY has proper power applied, that the 25 MHz crystal is oscillating and the ppm is within spec.

If the power is good, the XI pin is in spec, test the RD+/- and TD+/- pins to see if FLP pulses are coming out.

A common problem with FPGAs is the interference with strap pins. Please ensure at start-up, there are no transient voltages on the strap pins.

    Best Regards,
