TUSB7340: going obsolete?

Part Number: TUSB7340

Hi-

Why is the TUSB7340 not recommended for new designs? Is there a suggested replacement?

It seems like this is a fairly new part and new standard, so I would be surprised if it's slated to go obsolete already. Is it?

Thanks and Best Regards,

-Tim Starr

  • We do not recommend the TUSB7340 for new designs because the part was designed for xHCI version .96 and the current version of xHCI is version 1.1. This means that our part will not meet compliance for the new standard. The part is fairly old, the part was released in March 2011 making it 7 years old. We do not offer a replacement to this device or have a successor to this device.
