SN65DSI86: How to program SN65DSI86 support SSC in normal data translation?

Part Number: SN65DSI86

Hello

I would like to clarify SSC enable function…SN65DSI86 should support this function, right?

And just check the spec, the SSC block is inside the IC, as below:

but the address 0x93 seems to use SSC on Link training ONLY, or can it work under  normal data translation?

Could you help to guide us what should we do on software to enable SSC?

  • The SN65DSI96 does supports Spread Spectrum Clocking(SSC) to reduce EMI. Once the SSC is enabled all of the DP lanes will have SSC on them until the SSC is disabled, not just during link training. We recommend that you enable SSC and have the Down- spread at the default value, but if you need to reduce EMI further you should use the "001= Down-spread 4375 ppm" setting. If you need further EMI reduction you might want to look into edge rate control(ERC).
