DS90UB913A-Q1: Support input SSCG input for serializer

Dear team,

We have an issue because of applying SSCG PCLK input on DS90UB913A-Q1.

I heard that DS90UB913A-Q1 can't support input SSC tolerance.

In that case, is there any parts to substitute DS90UB913A-Q1?

    UB913a can accept external PCLK with SSCG. please see UB913a/933 D/S, we have jitter parameter in assigned freq. range specified in UB933 d/s, you can refer to it when designing UB913a circuit. for new design, you can choose UB933 which is p2p with UB913a.

    Thanks to your reply. I have an addtional question.
    Actually, we made HW structure for RVC that 913a[In Camera Module Circuit]->914a[My PCB]->913a[My PCB].
    In that case, I heard that if applying SSCG to 914, 913a[My PCB] can't accept PCLK with output PCLK of 914.
    Is this true? I read jitter parameter spec on 913a, But i didn't understand a bit. Because it doesn't seem like my current situation.

  • i would suggest you please understand the SSC firstly. the technique of SSC is used for lower EMI based on the modulation technology for carry freq., so it would introduce low freq. noise for the high speed link. but for UB913a/933 serializer, you can check the jitter request among several hundreds of KHz to several MHz offset freq., so this SSC noise does NOT matter with the UB913a/933 and 914A/934 high speed serial link. this is the unique automotive serdes vendor who lists so detailed jitter spec.

    For your concern, I'm sorry I don't know where you hear this message. If you can tell the person who deliver this message, we can have more open discussion.
    btw, for UB913a/914a, SSC is needed for the system design as TI's serdes is based on higher performance equalizer NOT pre-emphasis tech., so SSC is NOT used in most cases in our customers.

  • We applied 0.5% SSC to 914a because of EMI improvement. But we checked RVC display issue at high temperature, so we requested checking the symptom to FAE. Then FAE sent e-mail to me that 913a can't accept SSC applied CLK from 914a. Because input SSC tolerance was not defined in 913a specification. I didn't understand his comment, because I didn't discover special note on CMLOUT waveform when the issue happened. Please discussion with FAE and additional feedback to me.
