L293: Right part for step motor driver.

Dear experts,

Customer wants to get feasible driver suitable for step motor they are using.

They need small sized part with similar performance like L293 which was designed in their reference board . L293 cannot be used due to big size. If you are not right person, Would you forward this and help to get feedback ?

I recommended DRV8835 for alternative solution of L293 to customer.

Hi JH.,

What is the VM voltage for the system? If is it 4V, the DRV8835 is a good device.

If the VM voltage is higher, then the DRV8846 with current regulation should be considered.

Thanks for feedback. VM is 4V. They want to test DRV8835 to drive one step motor..

Is there guide for them to test DRV8835 regarding control method (A/B phase timing control ) for driving step motor ? I am not familiar with step motor driving.
