DS92LX1621: Compatibility Channel Link III serializer and FPD Link deserializer

Hello,

we have existing camera devices with a Channel Link III serializer which connects to a "monitor" device with a Channel Link III deserializer.

For a future version of the "monitor" device we investigate the possibility to integrate a FPD Link deserializer to connect higher resolution cameras.

Is it possible to connect a DS92LX1621 Channel Link III serializer to a FPD Link deserializer?

Hi Uwe,

The DS92LX1621/2 Channel Link III set is compatible with the DS90UB901/2 FPD-Link III set. In your case you can use the DS92LX1621 with the DS90UB902.

thanks for the answer.
I had a look at the DS90UB901 datasheet and saw, that it has a max PCLK off 43Mhz. The DS92LX1621 has a PCLK of 50Mhz.
Our goal for the future is to connect higher resolution camera which have higher clock rates but be backward compatible to the older ones.
Are the any FPD Link components that provide a bandwith like the DS90UB934 100Mhz but is backward compatible with the DS92LX1621.

Hi Uwe,

Unfortunately there is not an FPD-Link device that is both compatible with the DS92LX1621 and can run at 100MHz. This is because the frame structure was changed when they extended the range to 100MHz.
