TCA9617B: Setting of VCCA, VCCB

Part Number: TCA9617B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9517,

Hi Team,

Can I use the same voltage if VCCB and VCCA are between 2.2 V and 5.5 V?

Best Regards,

Kenji

  • EDIT: please see my next reply

    Hey Kenji-san,

Unfortunately this device does not support VccA=VccB. Are you choosing this device because it supports 1MHz frequency? If you don't need this supported frequency then we do have other buffers that do support VccA=VccB at 400kHz. (TCA9517 and TCA980x)

    Thanks,

    -Bobby

  • Hi  Quote-san,

    Thank you for answering.

Recommended operation of VCCA The MAX regulation is written in the data sheet with VCCB.

Although it can be understood that VCCA = VCCB does not matter, is that idea the wrong thing?

If VCCA <VCCB is correct, what is the voltage difference required? (For example, 1 V? 0.1V?)

    Best Regards,

    Kenji

  • Hey Kenji-San,

I double checked with an engineer who used to support this device before me, hes said he did testing with the TCA9617B where VccA and VccB were at the same voltage and confirmed the device works.

He stated issues can occur if VccA goes larger than VccB and cause issues with the VoL and propagation delay.

Sorry for the misleading first post.

    Thanks,
    -Bobby

    I understand.

    I appreciate your support.
