XIO2001: How to config XIO2001 from PCI to PCI into PCIE to PCI

Hi,  Sir.

     I have question about XIO2001 configuration.

     We find XIO2001 is identified as PCI to PCI bridge(PCI 到PCI桥, not PCI EXpress to PCI bridge.

     So far, our PC(Win7) can find PCI to PCI bridge, but can't find PCI daughter card.

     My question is :

      1, how to config the XIO2001 0x4 command register? (defualt value is 0, PCI to PCI.)

       2, Can you give a right E2PROM file for PCIE to PCI bridge?

        Below is the PC BIOS setting.

    Please find attached a sample EEPROM code used in the EVM. It configures the bridge as PCIe to PCI bridge.

    Hi, Sir.

       Thanks for your support. But with the configuration, PC and Laptop also find that is a PCI to PCI bridge.

        We tested the four PCIE link.(There are four link in the PC, LINK[4:1].)

         1, Link 1 to LINK3 can find the XIO2001 board as PCIE to PCI bridge, and another PCI carfd plug with XIO2001 will be found, no any issue.

          2, But LINK4 can find the PCI to PCI bridge, also can't find the PCI cafrd.

          3,  Use other board with ASMEDIA 1083 chip on the LINK-4,  can be found as PCIE to PCI bridge. And support dymatic plug in(found) and plug out(gone) function.

          4, XIO2001 can't support dymatic plug in(found) and plug out(gone) function.

         Please help anayze the issues.

         1,  About the LINK-4 issue: 

                1.1. Most of PCIE to PCI bridge is PCIE1.1, but XIO2001 is 2.0.  is it the root cause?

                1.2. Link1`3 can work well, PCIE driver issue? Did you try your card with Laptop? Which Vendor's laptop(HP/IBM/Dell) can find XIO2001 as PCIE to PCI bridge?

         2, About dymatic plug in  plug out  issue.

                I connected PC and card only with PCIE + power/Groud + PERST.

                2.1 ASMMEDIA can support this function. PCIE 2.0 issue or E2PROM setting issue?

    Hello,

    The fact that XIO2001 board shows up as PCIE to PCI bridge and functions without issues with PCIe links 1-3 suggests that it is not EEPROM configuration issue nor PCIe1.1 vs. 2.0 issue (even though the other board works with link 4).

    You really have to investigate the difference between links 1-3 and link 4.

    After update the PC driver, the issue is fixed. Thanks for your support!
