SN65HVD33: half-duplex mode of SN65HVD33

Part Number: SN65HVD33

Hi Team,

If the SN65HVD33 can work at half duplex mode, which means only use one pair differential cable?

if Yes, could you please help to design suggestion of how RS422 full duplex switch to RS485 half duplex work mode?

Thank you.

  • Hi Lilian,

A full-duplex transceiver can operate as a half-duplex transceiver when the differential output lines are tied to the differential input lines. The non-inverting output (Y) should be tied to the non-inverting input (A) and the inverting output (Z) should be tied to the inverting input (B). This connection could be a fixed configuration on a PCB or could be configurable via jumpers/switches or by logic-controllable devices like solid-state relays.

    Regards,
    Max
