TLK10232: 10GbE Transceiver and PHY

Hello, I'm planning to use the 10GbE ports on the 66AK2H14 ARM+DSP and need help in selecting a transceiver. I was looking at the TLK10232  but ARM+DSP is XFI and the TLK10232  is XAUI. Can anyone help me find an appropriate transceiver or even a PHY that I could use.

    The 66AK2H14 has two 10-GigE ports of which one I want to go to an SFP+ connector so that I might be able to connect to a PC. The other port I want to go across a VPX backplane and then connect to an FPGA. I think I found a good PHY part#BCM8727 but that won't cover the case when going across the backplane.

    Hello Joe,

    The TLK10232 can in principle interface to optical modules as well as backplanes. However, for optical links Link Training is not reliable and you may need to disable auto-negotiation and link training and manually configure the device OR use a retimer in front of the TLK10232 (such as DS110DF111).
