TPS65982: EVM Firmware Licensing

Hi Team,

My customer is interested in using the firmware provided by the TPS65982 EVM GUI software for their test system.

With this, are there any licensing concerns about using the firmware generated by the EVM software for their production test equipment?

They plan to build a separate board (not using the EVM directly) and will be providing this fixture to their clients as well.

    What is the customer trying to use for their production test equipment?

    Please note that the TPS65982 EVM uses the old power rules of sourcing 5V, 12V, and 20V.

    I would suggest using the TPS65981EVM instead as it supports the latest PD power rules and supplies 5V, 9V, 15V, and 20V. Also, I would suggest creating a template from the latest version of the tool as the base EVM firmware is relatively old and we have made many improvements since then.

    I am not aware of any Firmware Licensing issues.
