TPS65986: Male Connector for J4 Barrel-Jack Power Connector

Hi,

A customer is currently using the dev board to power everything over a USB-C connection with 5V and 3A, however, they need to negotiate 12V and 3A to power the device. They want to change the power supply’s connectors to match on the TI eval board. They have already found the exact female part to match, but now need to find the male part.

 

They need to find a source that fits the J4 Barrel-Jack Power Connector on the TPS65986.

 

Do we have a recommendation on what they can use to solve this issue?

    Hi Graig,

    May I ask a few questions which might help me better solve the issues?
    1. Are you looking for a source that fits the barrel-jack on TPS65986EVM? If so, a dell laptop power supply that support more than 20V/5A can be used.
    2. Why 12V is needed? It doesn’t meet the PD specs which should be 5V/9V/15V/20V. You can get 12V by changing your design, but it won’t pass PD compliance test.
    3. What does “dev board” mean? Is it a TPS65986EVM or other power supply board?

    Hi Hao,

    Thanks again for the response. I took the questions to the customer and they are wondering if they can buy just the connectors without the power supplies?

    I suppose they don't actually need the power supply itself.

    I think this should be a doable application.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    The picture shows how TPS65986EVM works. If you want male connector for the barrel-jack, I'm sorry we don't have this product.
