SN65HVD01: about hot insertion and hot removal function

Part Number: SN65HVD01

Hi Dear experts,

Does SN65HVD01 support hot insertion or hot removal?

thanks very much for your reply.

  • Joyce,

Are you referring to the "Hot Plug-in" features that other devices like the THVD15xx family offer?

  • Hi Lucas,

I checked the datasheet of THVD15xx family, it describes as: Glitch-Free Power-Up/Down for Hot Plug-in Capability.

I think it is similar to my question, hot insertion or hot removal means when devices are not powered up, but the signal may appear at the input pin; when devices power goes off, the signal may still appear at the input pin. Will it cause glitch or other performance degradation?

thanks very much for your reply in advance.

    Joyce

  • Joyce,

The receiver output will be in a high-impedance state when the device is not powered. This means there will be no output as long as the device is not powered. Does this match the desired behavior of the "hot insertion and hot removal" features?
