TMDS181: I2c read/write issue - TMDS181

Part Number: TMDS181

Dear AE team,

My customer is using TMDS181 and reported an issue abou I2C read/write issue.

1, checked the I2C read/write timing with logic analyzer and which can match the timing requirement in datasheet.

2, but when they read the register when system power on, the read out result is correct first time; when read the same register again, then the read out result is wrong.

3, when write the register when system power on, then the read out result of this register is wrong too.

4, customer mentioned they have followed the read and write operation in datasheet P33, 8.5.1.

So I have provided the read/write operation as below for your comments:

Who can help me for this case? thanks.

Best Regards

  • Hi Iven,

At what speed is the I2C read / write access to the device?

    Regards,
    JMMN
  • it is 200K.

could you please help verify at your lab based on customer's read/wirte operation? thanks.

I would like to follow up with you via email for the schematic review. thanks.

    Best regards

    Iven

  • Hi JMMN,

could you please let me know your email address or you can contact me with iven-xu@ti.com?
I have schematic want to share with you for your review.
I have submitted this issue in internal helpme link as well, could you please help speed up to check the issue due to this project just been moved to MP.

I am thinking about whether you can help do below test:
Can you pls use our TMDS181EVM to do the read/write operation following with customer's read/write program?
or could you please just used our TMDS181EVM to test the read/write operation and capture the I2C timing by logic analyzer? for customer to reference for debug.

    thanks for your response.

    Best Regards
    Iven Xu
  • HI JMMN,
