Part Number: TPS65986
Hello!
I’ve been designing a power adapter dongle for USB type C and a proprietary charging port.
The charger needs 15V at 45-60W. Two of the standard PDOs will allow for this (15V3A, 20V3A) when used in conjunction with a DC Buck regulator.
The device has no data role and always acts as a sink. In addition it will need to boot from no battery condition.
The TPS65986 is the best chip for this task, according to my research.
I’ve looked through the data sheets and it appears to request a higher voltage PDO it is necessary to communicate over I²C. I am trying to reduce chip count; is there a setting I can enable in the configuration program or SPI flash to automatically request a higher voltage PDO?
Thanks!
