DS90UB953-Q1: oscilloscope probing on MIPI CSI data lanes between sensor and 953 results in bad images

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi,

I am working on the 953/954 pair.

Probing either of the four MIPI CSI data lanes between the sensor and 954 will result in bad images.

Looks like many rows of data are missing, so the image is pressed or squeezed to the top of the monitor, leaving some black rows at the bottom of the monitor.

Without 953/954 pair, probing MIPI CSI lanes between the sensor and the ISP has no issue.

Is the 954 that sensitive? Any suggestion how I can measure the signal without interfere the data path?

I am using Tektronix MSO70404C and P7508 probe.

Thanks!

  • Hi, are you probing the CSI2 lane between sensor output and UB953 input or the CSI2 lane between UB954 and its following processor?
in our lab, even we use high speed scope's probe to contact the CSI2 lane pins, it has NO error.
also, both UB953 and UB954 are qualified to pass the CSI2 compliance test in our lab. for your issue, does it be tested in TI EVM board or your own board? how does the board be designed?

    best regards,
    Steven
