TPS2549: Device operation check

Part Number: TPS2549

Hi Team,

I have some questions from customers.

1. I would like to know the device type name tested by TI under the DIVIDER 3 mode of the DCP.

2. I would like to know the device type name tested by TI under the 1.2V mode of the DCP.

3. I would like to know the device type name tested by TI under short circuit mode of DCP (conforming to BC 1.2 and YD / T 1591-2009)

4. Is it possible to use the APPLE tablet in the CDP mode that allows simultaneous communication and charging?

Best Regards,

Kenji

  • Hello Kenji-san,

Questions 1 and 2: I will reach out to you via email and give you the answer to these questions. Don't want to post that publicly here on the forum.

Question 3: If I am understanding your question correctly, DCP mode is always shorted together and is a BC1.2 compliant mode, so it is universal for all BC1.2 devices. Here is a diagram showing the different configurations for BC1.2 compliant settings, mainly DCP.

Question 4: I cannot test this personally as our group does not have any Apple tablets to use, but CDP mode allows for data transfer as well as charging up to 1.5A, so Apple should be compatible with this mode/device.
