TCA9803: Is there any restriction on cascading TCA9803 devices?

Part Number: TCA9803

Is there any restriction on cascading TCA9803 devices?  I am planning to use three devices in series to cross power domains and reduce load on segments.  I am not making a "tree," each TCA 9803 will only drive one other TCA9803.  Please let me know if there are potential problems when doing this.

  • Hey Kirk,

The only issue I see is if you accidentally hook up the B sides of the device together. This will work if: A-B-A-B-A-B

A-B-B-A-A-B for instance will not work because two B sides are in series with each other.

The only other condition is B side should not have a pull up resistor. (This means any A sides connected to B should also NOT have a pull up resistor)

    Thanks,
