DP83867E: HW Strap vs Register settings

Hi,

using the DP83867E, I  am not sure, if a register setting would overwrite a HW setting. 

What, if the I want change the HW settings during start up procedure?

I have a built board,  where I cannot put a HW strap on LED_0 and therefore I want to set the register.

Would  that work?

    Hello Christian,

    LED_0 on DP83867E controls the MIRROR mode and SGMII mode. These functions can be later changed via software settings. Please note that straps are sampled on every power-up and hardware reset. Any configuration performed via software will be wiped and the PHY will default back to strap configuration. You would have to re-program the software settings after every power-up and hard reset.
