DS90UB953-Q1: question about GPIO output

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Dear TI,

Is it possible to input a horizontal sync (about 100 KHz) to the sensor using the DS90UB953's GPIO output?
-. We applied the Sony IMX290 to the camera that we are currently designing. To apply frame sync, we have been recommended that Sensor should enter Hsync and Vsync on the sensor.
I wonder if DS90UB953 can output frame sync signal and Hsync signal directly to the sensor.

thanks,

TS

  • Hi TS,
For your issue, it includes two points:
    1. how to generate the horizontal sync (about 100 KHz), which has determined phase relationship with Framesync.? is it from the processor attached to UB954? If yes, the horizontal sync (about 100 KHz) generation has no problem. please note UB954 can't generate the HS signal internally.
    2. how to transmit this FS/HS signals from UB954 to UB953? FS has no problem which is indicated in d/s as example. for HS signal transmitted from UB954 to UB953, please note the back channel GPIO typical timing in UB953 (page21) or UB954 d/s, the maximum freq. in back channel GPIO is up to ~400KHz in sync. mode, and the typical jitter is ~600ns. please check this spec. can match the HS signal request? if yes, this transmitting based on back channel GPIOs also can work.

    best regards,
    Steven
