DS90UB954-Q1: Use pattern generation sample code failed

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi,

I have tried the sample code of pattern generation form datasheet, and E2E thread

But still fail to generate testing pattern.

1. Could you help to provide the example code not onlty the pattern gen but also the total setting from beginning.

2. Or is there any step for trouble shooting?

Thank you.

  • Hello,
Can you provide some additional information? What is the frame rate, resolution, and data type for the image sensor & the internal test pattern?
Are you able to measure the CSI2 CLK signal on the UB954 output?
Are you using clk_out on the 953 to provide the clock for the image sensor?
  • Chentsu,
it has NO special setting for UB954 if you want to enable UB954 pattern generation! Please just follow up the code example in d/s or the above E2E link.
    for your issue, please check:
    1. how do you identify the "failure"? does the UB954 not output any thing in the CSI2 port?
    2. if you has no think output in CSI2 port, please check whether the UB954 board is running up? how about the external REFCLK? I2C is workable? etc...
    3. If CSI2 port has output, you can check the CSI2 receiver side, what is the error?

    best regards
    Steven
  • Hi Steven,

    1.  UB954 has CSI2 output as the waveform below:

    2. the waveform of CLK

    3. When 953 connect to a camera, use 2 lane can get the signal on 954, and I can see the image on the monitor.

But when 954 use the sample code to generate colorbar, CSI2 could output sugnal as the attached waveform, but can not see anything on monitor.

At the CSI receiver side, it will show TIME OUT whild camera dis-connection in normal condition,

but when customer do pattern gen at 954, even there is no camera connected, but receiver can not get TIME OUT massage.

    Thank you.

  • Chentsu,
can you check the receiver side is set correctly? does it need continuous clock output?

    best regards,
    Steven
