SN75DP119: Series connection question

Dear TI staff,

I made a design with a series connection of two SN75DP119, but forget to put in AC coupling capacitors between them. It seems from the datasheet that SN75DP119 has a input termination voltage range (0~1.7~2V) and output common mode voltage (0~1.55~2V). So is it ok for this kind of direct connection?

No, There needs to be AC coupling capacitors on the data input and data outputs.

Thanks for your reply, Michael! Can you explain a bit more why this is not correct? Is it because the power may flow from one side to the other? Thanks!

without AC caps the driver and receiver will not have the same common mode voltage and this will cause the receiver to not receive the signal correctly.
