TUSB211: Why the TUSB211 datasheet says the D1P must be short to D2P?

My customer wants to use the device TUSB211. But the datasheet says the D1P must be short to D2P. We want to check why. Thanks.

Yes to implement TUSB211 D1M and D1P must be shorted together as well as D2M and D2P.

To add, the TUSB211 is designed to operate without breaking the USB DP and DM signal traces. This also enables a BOM option for the device without the need for re-layout.
