DS90UB954-Q1: ds90ub954/953 image format related issue

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi,

What is the reason for this situation?

  • Hello,
Can you provide additional information about your system? What clocking mode are you using for the 953/954? Are you seeing CRC errors on the 953 and 954? You should also confirm the LOCK status.
You can break down the link (imager -> 953 -> 954 -> ISP) into different portions and verify each portion of the link is working correctly.
We have some video modules available on the FPD-Link learning center on 953/954 system design and debug that you may find useful:

  • It seems the processor can't output the correct sync. signal. You can check whether the processor output has some problems here?

btw, you can check the UB954 reg 0x73~0x76 as well, and try the pattern generation for verification inside UB954 as well.

    best regards,

    Steven

  • Hi,Steven,
The value of the reg 0x73 is changeable ,the other regs are as follows :
    0x74: 0xe7
    0x75:0x06
    0x76:0x68
I have tried the pattern generation ,both 954 and 954+953 can output the color bars.
The processor can output right image of single sensor .What should I do to solve this problem ?
  • This register value is matching your failure. You can understand these 4 registers in d/s. The line count per frame is changed! You  can check whether the video source has some problem? or the video source timing has problem.

    best regards,

    Steven

  • Hi,steven,
Thanks for your reply .I have checked that the sensor output the correct image without the 953and 954, I wonder if this mean the video source has no problem.Besides, its CSI-2 data lane and clock lane to 953 are ok. Looking forward to your reply soon!

    best regards,

    Alice
  • Alice,
how about the lock status of UB954? Unlock would make the link unstable.
btw, you can check the registers inside UB953 to understand whether the sensor data to UB953 is correct or not. also, you can enable UB953 pattern gen. to confirm whether the link between UB953 and UB954 is correct or not. after debugging these, you can have more clear clues on the root cause, thanks.

    best regards,
    Steven
