TPS25810+HD3SS3212 solution is recommended in TPS25810 datasheet. Is there any method that we can omit the SS MUX?

Thank you for posting your question here on E2E. What is the end application for this project? If you are wanting to transfer data, then the SS MUX is needed to control the data lines, depending on the cable orientation. However, if you are using it for just a charger with no data transfer, than there is no need for an SS MUX.

.If the system can allocate two ports to support the both orientations on a USB-C port, there is no need for the mux.

Windows 10 should support Type-C ports that do not use a MUX for the two orientations of the SS lines, but instead allocate two ports(one for each orientation). The ports should be as described in ACPI, refer to the section 9.14 of the latest ACPI specification.
