UCC21520: UCC25120 fail behavior

Hi Team,

My customer wants to know the behavior when UCC21520 is fail. Is it short? They think that UCC21520 is capacitive isolated and the capacitor will be short when it fails.

Do you have some slides that i can share with customer to explain this?

Hi Yangbo,

UCC21520 uses reinforced isolation technology to prevent isolation from failing shorted. Please see http://www.ti.com/lit/wp/slyy081/slyy081.pdf for a white paper discussing the "fail-open" behavior of our reinforced capacitive isolation technology.
