UCC21520: 3 phase inverter using UCC21520

Part Number: UCC21520
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00366

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask UCC21520?

We have planning to construct 3 phase inverter application using UCC21520.
And then, we consider timing chart of low and high side FET for it.
(We don't have enough knowledge for gate operation of 3 phase inverter.)
If you hve the timing chart or any document, could you give us the as reference?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

We have many, many, many TI Designs and other information for three phase inverter designs on our website.

Please check www.ti.com/.../TIDA-01420 for example (uses two single isolated drivers instead of the UCC21520, but those could be replaced.

    Also, check: www.ti.com/.../overview.html

If you can provide more details, I can help you zero in on a similar TI Design.
  • Hi Don san

Thank you so much for your reply!

To be honest with you, we are looking for the TI-design of three phase inverter which publishes software.
We configured three phase inverter application which is very similar to TIDA-00366.
However, it can't operate well.(Because we don't have enought knowleage for operation of High side and Low side of gate drive.)
That's why, we need the software or timing chart as the reference.
The software and timing chart of TIDA-00366 are only for internal test, therefore it can't share it.(told us it on E2E.)

So, if you have any software of TI-design of three phase inverter, could you share us as the reference?
Or, if you have timing chart of High side and Low side of gate driver, could you share us?

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

All software support would be provided by the microcontroller group.

Please reach out to your local TI Sales Office to inquire about obtaining s/w support for your customer.
  • Don san

Thank you so much for your reply.
    The customer is unassigned customer.

We assume that TI designs are for all of the customer.
So, does the software for TI designs only adapt for assigned customers?
Or, should we ask to the microcontroller group?

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

The microcontroller group may require special licenses, etc to release software to customers, so it's best to contact them to understand the situation.
