Hi Team,

Please allow me to ask you about TMDS181 A1 I2C address pin.

Customer will use TMDS181 in Pin Strapping mode, however, they also want to prepare I2C access for debugging.

Their question is, "What happens if it is pulled High or Low in Pin Strapping Mode ? Would it have any side effect ?"

There is a description to keep A1 floating in Pin Strapping mode.

Kawai,

A1 still affects the address even when I2C_EN is low (pin strap mode). Only the features that have pin equivalents are controlled by the pins in pin strap mode.

Thanks for your support.

I am understand that A1 setting would affect I2C slave address.

What we need to know is if the device is used in "Pin Strapping Mode" and A1 is set to High or Low (not floating), would there be a case that the device would behave abnormal outside the electrical characteristic ?

Could the device be used in Pin Strapping Mode with A1 set to High or Low ?

Kawai,

Yes, A1 can be pulled high or low in pin strap mode. We do not expect any abnormal behavior when A1 is high or low in pin strap mode.
