Hi epxert,

I am asking a question about the DP83867IR mirror mode description in page 18.

Coul you please check see below table, which I think it is not correct, please help double check.

Such as in 10/100M mode, C and D should not be used, right?

I think the correct description should be show as below. please correct me? thanks.

10/100M:

A->B

B->A

1000M:

B->A

A->B

D->C

C->D

Hi Iven,

Mirror mode is primarily used to adjust the connections to RJ45 incase cable pairs ( A, B ) are swapped to C and D.

As you said, in 10/100M, only 2 pairs are used, so Mirror mode provide swapping the connector connections from A to D and B to C. On the top of it, phy also provides option to use MDIX which essentially swaps the Tx and Rx lines between A and B. This is needed to use a straight or cross cable.

1, So do you mean there is no typo in datasheet about this session?
2, further question, in 10/100M, typical customer will use the A/B only, right?

3, if you see the competitor's datasheet - KSZ9031MNX, do you think it is the similar description with our mirror feature session?

Using Mirror feature: it depends on custome use-case.
