SN75DP159: Input differential voltage (peak to peak) and Eye Height

Part Number: SN75DP159
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DP159,

We use the dp159 for the input stage of the display port.

What is the minimum input level?

The minimum level of this device input differential voltage (peak to peak) is 75MVPP. What is the guaranteed voltage of Eye Height?

Also, what does Figure 11 mean in the catalogue (www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn65dp159.pdf) ?

  • The output voltage peak to peak of the device is a function of input voltage and EQ setting. What do you mean by guaranteed voltage of Eye Height? Do you mean what is the minimum voltage peak to peak that the SN75DP159 receives as input? or do you mean what is the minimum voltage peak to peak that the SN75DP159 outputs?
  • I want to know the peak of the eye height of the minimum voltage that sn75dp159 receives as input.
This is because the minimum eye height required for the RBR compliance test on the display port is 40MVPP.
SN75DP159 's ability to satisfy this?
  • The 40mV peak to peak RBR is specified in Table 9-8 of the DisplayPort spec. However, this value is informative only, serves as a reference which Sink TP3 parameters are defined. A sink that passes compliance does not have to meet these informative parameter values. TP3 and TP3_EQ are where the compliance test is performed.

    Thanks
