Hello,

1,How to make SN65DSI83 and SN65DSI84 compatible?We did not find the device ID with the register.

2,Screen resolution is 1920*720.I want to use the Dual-Link LVDS.Soc output to SN65DSI84 resolution is 1920*720.And then,SN65DSI84 parameters can be configured as 960*720,Dual-Link LVDS.Is that so?

Hi Vickers,

1. I’m not quite sure I understand this question. Can you clarify what you mean by “compatible”? Both of these devices are DSI to LVDS bridges, except the sn65dsi83 is only single channel LVDS, while the sn65dsi84 can be dual-channel LVDS.

2. You are correct. Please use the DSI-Tuner tool to configure the CSR settings:

I think that i2c address can distinguish between two devices.
Another question,I set the sn65dsi83 my configuration clk no error.I set the same clk with sn65dsi84 dual-channel output,clk error.How do i cofigure the clk？

Hi Vickers,

Can you be more specific about the error? What is register 0xE5 reading? (Please clear it by writing 0xFF to it before reading from it).

The value reading by the E5 register is 01.
The parameters we set are as follows as SN65DSI83 we used before.We measured only single channel signal output.

We actually measured DSI ch A CLK is 282.So we fill it.Divisor we choose 6.LVDS mode is dual.SN65DSI84 does not have any output.

And how do we use test pattern.Does test pattern need clock input?We use FPD-Link DS90UB947&DS90UB948 test pattern just OK.Only this problem.The project is very urgent,and looking forward to a quick reply.

1. Can you share the panel datasheet? I want to make sure you are configuring the DSI-Tuner correctly.

Please clarify this. It does not match the screenshots you posted.

3. Test pattern generation is described on page 14 of the datasheet. You can also just use the DSI-Tuner to configure in test pattern mode.Yes, the test pattern needs a clock input.

The screenshots I posted is that as SN65DSI83 parameters we used before.We try to test this parameters in SN65DSI84.

The attachment is the panel datasheet.

Hi Vickers,

I don't believe those parameters will work with that panel. You need to configure the tool so that it matches the panel's specifications (resolution, blanking time, frequency, mapping format, etc.). It also needs to be in dual LVDS mode.
