TPS2560: TPS2560DRC

Part Number: TPS2560

 Hello,

is it possible to connect only one channel of the TPS2560 ?

Is my reference Layout (see on Picture) correct ?

regards Mario

  • Hi, Mario,

It's okay to connect only one channel of TPS2560. But you should disable the channel you don't use.

Your schematic looks good, except floating EN2, please connect EN2 to GND.

    Regards,
    Bob
  • Hello,
thank you for the fast Response. Is the Circut now correct?

    regards

  • Hi, Mario,

It's not correct. You shouldn't connect IN_2 to GND. IN pin and IN_2 pin are not separate for each channel, they are tied together inside chip. Below is function block diagram FYI. And we don't mark these two pins as 'IN' and 'IN_2' in datasheet, they are all 'IN' pins. You should tie these two IN pin together for input power supply.

As far as Fault2, because it's a open drain output, you can connect it to GND or pull it up, it doesn't matter.

For OUT2, you can connect it to GND or leave it floating.
